![]() ![]() But not something that is a key feature in modern simming reliability of the scenery around according to real-world data. The alpha version of this simulator have been worse in many ways than what we are currently seeing, but thanks to some testers and a quick reaction from the devs side, some of the flaws have been fixed. And yes, it’s been revolutionary throughout every single new version of flight sims, where they have pushed the boundaries constantly. I know the legacy of the flight simulators out there, because I have been at it my whole life. I did grow up with Flight Simulators being on floppy-drives and being nothing but a static Cessna with a few gagues, surrounded by a “moving world”, consisting of white lines in a black world. ![]() You may not think so, but I really feel bummed out, when I see key landmarks being unrecognizable in a modern-era sim that is marketed as being one of the big leaps in FS history with local modeling for VFR flights. ![]() But talking about how much it would cost to buy a license from Google and then thinking about how much Bing could be improved upon for (probably) a fraction of that? I think we need that. Of course, a company would not go spend the kind of money (and failure of their own brand) it will take to hire a competitor such as Google. Asobo did hire 1 of the two, which is AWESOME!, and more than acceptable (keep in mind - none of what I have requested in this thread will keep me from simming in MSFS) - but I feel bummed out. The ideal, and really expensive, solution to the terrain data, would be to hire in the experts of sattelite imagery as well as weather forecasts and such. It seems that some people fail to realize where this is posted - on the wishlist under MSFS.Īs previously mentioned in a reply on this thread, I know that Asobo/Microsoft is not going to reach out to Google. Sure there were grumbles but nothing like this. Oh I wish we could go back to the early Alpha forums. This forum has become a cesspit of negativity (which I appreciate I have now added to). You couldn’t make this stuff up in a comedy show. Instead, they seriously recommended Microsoft use a major competitors mapping engine, at significant licensing cost, over their own platform that they have invested millions in. So few seem to appreciate what the developers have done or achieved or what will come in the next few months and years. So few people actually realise this thing is just under a month out the door and already the world simulation engine beats anything else out there. But all we’re getting from people is stupid little things that will improve with time and patience. People with genuine problems like not being able to install the product, should be able to let off steam here. I’ve found it somewhat depressing reading some the forums in the past few weeks that I’m returning less and less.
